Most waterproof trench coat in the world. Rather than non-waterproof traditional gabardine cotton, we’ve chosen eVent technical fabric. Wear over a suit or smart business outfit.
UPGRADED CLASSIC: WW1 OFFICER’S TRENCH WARFARE RAINCOAT
Long rain jackets were created in the Victorian era for troops standing in open trenches for days. Unpleasant rubberised jackets were improved with the advent of gabardine cotton.
The gabardine trench coat became a status symbol in post-war Britain, and its image moved from grim practicality to greater smartness for the man about town.
However, gabardine is not truly waterproof, much to the annoyance of any finely suited city gent caught in a downpour.
Thus, we have created a simple, unbelted trench coat, utilising matte finish eVent waterproof fabric, that actually works. As is traditional, we have left it unhooded, to retain its smartness and style lineage.
